PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

is obtained through controlled sintering of an atomised powder of Alpha–Alumina. The special production process creates a perfectly dense and compact product with exceptional hardness, second only to diamond. This hardness makes SARCER the product with the highest duration of protection from wear. Another extraordinary characteristic of SARCER is its chemical inertness: only hydrofluoric acid is able to damage its structure. Refinement of the SARCER production techniques has allowed for the creation – without modifying the structural and technical characteristics – of pieces with smaller size suitable for creating mosaic mats: SARMOS. This technology combines ease of installation and effective protection. The reduced size of the plates guarantees excellent coverage of the surfaces, even the most complex ones, with a consequent reduction in installation times, thicknesses, weights and costs. With this technology it is possible to cover pipes and bends of non-standard sizes. The mosaic structure reduces the effects due to impact wear, limiting the damaged area to the individual tile affected.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation

A surface preparation is important for long-term product performance. Parameters may vary depending on the severity of the application, expectations for durability, and initial conditions of the substrates to be treated.

  1. Remove any dirt, oil, grease etc. with a suitable detergent.
  2. Any irregularity, splash or weld witness and any other surface roughness must be leveled and flattened; any indentation or porosity must be grouted and leveled.
  3. Sandblast the entire surface to be treated with an angular grit to a roughness of 50-70 microns, and a blasting grade close to White Metal (SIS SA 2½ /SSPC-SP 10). For immersion applications, a blasting grade equal to White Metal is required (SIS SA 3/SSPC-SP 5).
  4. After sandblasting, the metal surface should be cleaned with a residue-free or solvent cleaner to remove dust and contaminants; clean, dry compressed air can also be used. The surface should be coated before new oxidation occurs.
