PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

SAROPLAST K003 Thixotropic two-component adhesive made of a new generation modified prepolymer, free of water and solvent, specifically for indoor and outdoor bonding of polyurethane, stone materials, marble, ceramic, alumina, etc., to sheet metal and other types of substrates.
By carefully mixing the two components, a uniform paste is obtained, characterized by easy spreadability and excellent vertical adhesion. SAROPLAST K003 has excellent adhesion properties, thanks to the use of innovative adhesion promoters and a high percentage of resin in its formulation, making it particularly suitable for use, especially on non-absorbent surfaces. Once hardened, it transforms into a film with excellent resistance to water, humidity, heat, weathering, as well as oils, solvents, diluted acids and alkalis, saltwater, and chlorinated water.

For information on the safe handling of this product, consult the safety data sheet (SDS).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation

A surface preparation is important for long-term product performance. Parameters may vary depending on the severity of the application, expectations for durability, and initial conditions of the substrates to be treated.

  1. Remove any dirt, oil, grease etc. with a suitable detergent.
  2. Every irregularity, splash or weld witness and every other surface roughness, must be leveled and flattened; every indentation or porosity must be grouted and leveled. Every protrusion, edge or joint, must be leveled with a minimum radius of 3mm and every corner must also be rounded with the same characteristics.
  3. Sandblast the entire surface to be treated with an angular grit to a roughness of 50-70 microns, and a blasting grade close to White Metal (SIS SA 2½ /SSPC-SP 10). For immersion applications, a blasting grade equal to White Metal is required (SIS SA 3/SSPC-SP 5).
  4. After blasting, the metal surface should be cleaned with a residue-free cleaner or solvent to remove dust and contaminants. Clean, dry compressed air can also be used to remove dust and contaminants. The surface should be coated before reoxidation occurs.

Mode of Application:

  1. Mix the two components, properly weighed in the quantities specified by the mixing ratio, for about 3 minutes.
  2. Then proceed with application using a spatula or similar tool, with a minimum film thickness of 1mm.
  3. Press the two surfaces to be glued together firmly, applying adequate pressure. The suction effect created will perfectly fix the item to the support.
  4. Application temperature for surface and ambient: 5-30 °C.
  5. Relative humidity: <85 %; Surface temperature should always be above the dew point by at least 3 °C.
  6. All untreated areas or areas with limited thickness must be restored by applying further product before installing the covering to be adhered

Cleaning

Clean equipment immediately after use with a solvent such as acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Once cured, the product can only be removed mechanically.
