PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

SARPOL RP08 It is a rubber-modified, ceramic-filled epoxy putty that offers anti-wear properties along with impact resistance, in two parts, designed to protect, rebuild, and repair high-wear areas of plants and machinery. This product is typically used in applications with an operating range of -30 to 120 ºC. Typical applications include flow deflectors, troughs, bends, chutes, and hoppers, and other plants or machinery exposed to both abrasion and impact.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation

Una corretta preparazione della superficie è fondamentale per le prestazioni a lungo termine di questo prodotto. I requisiti esatti variano in base alla gravità dell’applicazione, alla durata prevista e alle condizioni iniziali del substrato.

  1. All welds and weld spatter shall be ground flush. Blast clean all surfaces to be coated with angular grit to achieve a profile of 50-70 microns and near-white metal cleanliness (SIS SA 2½ /SSPC-SP 10).
  2. After blast cleaning, the metal surfaces must be clean and coated before any oxidation occurs.
  3. For vertical or ceiling applications, the application of expanded metal mesh is recommended.

Mode of Application:

  1. Film thickness per layer: minimum 6 mm.
  2. Apply the material to the prepared surface by first forcing a thin layer deep into the consistency of the substrate.
  3. Immediately thereafter, build up to the required finished thickness.
  4. At 25°C, working time is 30 minutes. Functional hardening for handling in 6 hours.

Check:

    • Ispezionare visivamente per fori e mancanze subito dopo l’applicazione.
    • Una volta che il rivestimento è indurito, ripetere l’ispezione visiva per confermare l’assenza di fori, vuoti o aree danneggiate.
    • Check the coating thickness, above all in critical areas.

Attenzione: Utilizzare un respiratore d’aria approvato a pressione positiva durante la saldatura o il taglio in prossimità del composto indurito. Non utilizzare fiamme libere sul composto.

Repairs

Any voids, holes, or thin areas found in the coating can be repaired by lightly abrading, cleaning the area, and applying additional product.

Cleaning

Immediately after use, tools must be cleaned with a suitable detergent, e.g., a solvent such as acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Once hardened, the material can only be removed mechanically.
