INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation
Correct surface preparation is key to the long-term performance of this product. The exact requirements will vary depending on the severity of the application, the expected service life and initial conditions of the substrate.

  1. All welds and weld spatter must be ground with a wire wheel. Blast all surfaces to be treated with angular grit until you achieve roughness of 50-70 micron and white metal blast cleaning level (SIS SA 2½ /SSPC-SP 10).
  2. After blast cleaning, the metal surfaces must be clean and coated before any oxidation occurs.

Method of Application

  1. Film thickness per layer: minimum 6 mm.
  2. Apply the material to the prepared surface, initially keying a thin coat into the substrate.
  3. Immediately thereafter, build up to the required finished thickness.

Check:

    • Perform visual inspection to ensure there are no holes or voids immediately after application.
    • Once the coating has hardened, repeat the visual inspection to confirm the lack of voids, holes or damaged areas.
    • Check the coating thickness, above all in critical areas.

Important: Use an approved self-contained respirator when cutting or welding near the hardened compound. Do not use naked flames on the compound.

Repairs
Any voids, holes or areas of insufficient thickness found in the coating can be repaired by lightly scuffing and cleaning the area and then adding further product.

Cleaning

Tools must be cleaned immediately after use with a solvent such as acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Once hardened, the product can only be removed via mechanical means
